I have always been the type of person who says what they mean & does what they want.
My parents will always talk about how I used to play 'mannequin' at the old department stores; where I would get on the podium and pose for however long they'd let me. I guess from a young age I knew life would be a stage for me.
I was a kid who played outside, ran around the neighborhood; but wasn't into the whole sport thing.
I truly found my calling at the age of 10, after I took that first ballet class.
Something clicked in me, where I felt so good about myself and I knew I had to have more. Fast forward many years of classes, rehearsals, performances, summers away as a student; which morphed into a professional career where I continued to perform around the nation, taught my love of dance to many studios around the Twin Cities metro. I retired my pointe shoes, tutus and the forever high of performing into the greatest and most rewarding job, motherhood.
My husband met me at the tail end of my dancing career and we both agreed on the next phase together where raising children will always be our primary focus.
We were married in 2010, and shortly after Bear was born in early 2011. My husband and I are very independent, hyperactive & as children we were handfuls for our parents. So having a Bear who is the most kind, empathetic, and patient soul has always surprised us. My husband jokes and states the reason why Bear is the way she is, is to balance out our 'crazy'.
We have enjoyed every stage, age and development with Bear; who is willing to try almost anything, at her pace. We thought for awhile our little family of 3 would be plenty; Bear asked for a sister for Christmas 2017. It's funny how timing works out, I believe the 3 of us needed to have those first 8 years before our next addition.
Of course Baby Bear fits in, like she has always been apart of us.
She definitely keeps us on our toes.
The 2 of them couldn't be more different, which is fun to watch.
Their love and admiration for each other is undeniable.
My life’s stage has always been a solo act, now and forever it will always feature my family.
Our philosophy is to provide every opportunity and experience for the both of them. We go on numerous adventures around the Twin Cities area, but it will be fun to find & try new ones!
I am happy to share our experiences, stories and some know-how through this blog. Follow along with my family of four as we dive into Summer!
